Mini Project: Song Lyric Word Art.

Notice anything different about this little corner of the master bedroom?

I had to move my little mini coat-rack-jewelry stand thing from the back of the toilet because it kept falling over off of the toilet randomly, and I was really sick of having to find scattered earring backs and whatnot.

But the more awesome thing, I think, is the brand new photo frame I found on clearance at Target sitting on top of my jewelry box.

See, I had some errands to run the other day, and since all of the Targets in our area have been recently renovated to house fresh groceries as well as little mini Starbucks, I found myself in a Pumpkin Spice Latte-fueled bliss, wandering the new-ish store to see if there were treasures to find.

Lo and behold.

I had every intention of spray painting it with clear lacquer so it'd match all the other things on the Gallery Wall of Lurve, but once I set it here randomly, Kyle voted for that to be it's final resting place. So.

Anyway, we left it for a few days with just the filler picture in it -- an outline of a sparrow, somewhere between classic tattoo and Edgar Allan Poe style -- and Kyle asked me if I could make something similar that didn't have the stupid logos and copyrights in the corner.

I'd already been thinking about a way to incorporate a song lyric into our decor in there, one that's meant a lot to us over the years. And now, an opportunity had presented itself.

The lyrics are a variation on Jimmy Eat World's song "Polaris" off of their Futures album and it's just been close to my heart for a really long time. The graphic itself is really super basic, but I kind of like that about it. I used a banner graphic from The Graphics Fairy and built in the words, laying it over both a handwritten background and a sheet music background. The sheet music one is what I have in the frame, but I might yet give the handwritten background one a go for a while to see which I like best.

And I thought I'd share them with you, if you care to have your own copy. They're sized to 8.5" x 11" so you can print them right out on a regular sheet of paper, or on photo paper, or whatever.

Just click each photo, which should take you to Google Docs (or Drive, now, I guess) and you should be able to download it from the File menu over there.

I just ask that you don't use them for your own profit in anyway, because that would make me very sad.

So not uber exciting, but like I told you, this is the time of year I get crafty, and there's not much easier to create without a mess or little hands "helping" than digital crafts.

Next week should have some good old fashioned big scale stuff, so hang in there with me. :)
